After returning from a trip to the beach Friday, I found my yard was alive
with spring. On Saturday I had three male Cardinals fighting over control of
my yard. Sunday morning I had two male cowbirds fighting over a female.
Sunday evening and this morning I had a very emaciated looking female
Rose-Breasted Grosbeak feeding in my yard. I have not seen a male. In prior
years I have always had a pair. It seems every year they arrive earlier
than the year before.
