Re: killdeer/plover

I was temporarily fooled by fledgling Killdeer(s?) last year on the Chapel
Hill (NC) spring bird count which took place the first Sunday in May. My
first thought, given their size and one-ringedness, was Semipalmated
Plover. Even though I knew Killdeers nested in the area. But Killdeers is
what they were.
