new rd. in conway, sc 12-26

hi y'all,

i cruised down New Rd. in Conway this morning (partly to escape the fun of a
nephew's new slot car track. i'm sure you understand.) anyway, highlights
were leisurely looks at an Orange-crowned Warbler, a Hairy Woodpecker with a
pair of Downies just a cpl of trees away, a highly vocal Red-shouldered
Hawk, a cpl of Bonaparte's gulls, a nice flock of robins and waxwings,
beaucoup Ruby-crowned kinglets, Carolina, House and Winter wrens, and a pair
of Barred owls that had a quick, heated vocal exchange with some interesting
sounds thrown in (perhaps one of their race cars wasn't as fast as the
other?)

the robins and waxwings sorta found themselves between the ruckus of the
owls to the north and the hawk to the south. last i saw of the winter
nomads, they were headed toward a pine stand to the west.

cheers,
