Re: Eurasian Collared-Doves--continued expansion in Carteret County,NC

Hi,

I am sorry to hear that. That will be another "House Sparrow" in America.
How about to start a hunting season with "Collared Dove hunting" instead of these nice Mourning ones?

Eurasian Collared-Doves continue to expand in Beaufort, now being seen
on the edge of town, in the airport area.

A few are now established also in Morehead City, in the downtown area.

A few birds are also established in the Broad Creek community, on Bogue
Sound, a few miles west of Morehead City. Of interest, birds have been
established at this site for several years, perhaps as early as when
birds first colonized Beaufort, 1997 or earlier.
