!082594 First woman solicitor at the PTO Nancy J. Linck has been appointed solicitor of the Patent and Trademark Office, the first woman to hold that position in the PTO's 204-year history. Ms. Linck, in addition to holding a law degree has a PhD in physical inorganic chemistry. She was formerly a partner in the law firm of Cushman, Darby and Cushman and a judicial clerk for Judge Pauline Newman of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fedeeral Circuit.
