!090594 PTO wants to regulate Invention Marketing companies On 9/1/94, there was a Senate hearing dealing with Inventor Marketing Firms. The Senate is investigating the abuses by this $100 million industry, since most invention marketing companies have horrible track records (some succeeding with less than 1% of their clients). USPTO Deputy Commissioner Michael Kirk testified on behalf of the PTO. He stated that the Patent and Trademark Office would like the legal power to license and regulate these companies. One form of regulation many in the patenting community should support. Greg Aharonian Internet Patent News Service
