I recently came across an interesting electronics patent. Titled "In-circuit testing system", number 4791356, the patent specification includes 18,000 lines of C code and 119 pages of circuit schematics. Ordering a copy from the patent office for $3 is a bargain given the page count, and a good example of including lots of source code and circuit layouts in a patent. The patent was awarded to Zehntel Corporation of Walnut Creek, CA. It was awarded after 25 months in December 1988, not an excessive amount of time, given the large amount of code and figures.
