Pharmacy Residency in Aging and Long-Term
Care
Program Overview
This twelve-month residency provides clinical training in pharmaceutical care for the older patient, emphasizing consultant
pharmacy practice and chronic disease management. Practice and skills development takes place primarily in two long-term care
facilities and an ambulatory care center. As a participating member of UNC's Geriatric Evaluation Team the resident practices
throughout the year with a core of geriatric specialists in a variety of settings.
Stipend and Benefits
A stipend of $24,000 is provided Benefits include health insurance and a professional development budget to support travel to
relevant regional and national meetings.
Current Resident, LORIE PAIT 
is a 1994 B.S. graduate of UNC. She will enter UNC's Doctor of Pharmacy
program in the Fall of 1995.
Applications Invited
UNC invites applicants to send a letter of interest. Preliminary interviews are traditionally held at the ASHP Midyear Clinical
Meeting each year. Competitive applicants are invited to Chapel Hill for a site visit and interviews with members of the faculty and
the Geriatric Evaluation Team.
