Bartender 1-3 – Slice of life stories about people who find both direction in life and mixed drinks at a very special bar. Bokurano 1-4 – When a group of children at summer camp agree to take part in a new game, it's more than they bargined for. Psychological mecha drama ala Ender's Game. Captain Harlock (1978) 1-2 – Under his flag of freedom, everyone's favorite space pirate defends the Earth from alien oppressors in this anime classic. Captain Harlock: Endless Orbit SSX 1-2 – A sequel to the Harlock origin film “Arcadia of my Youth” where he begins his pirate career on occupied Earth. City Hunter: Bay City Wars – When his friends are held captive by a nuke wielding generalissimo in a new island resort, everyone's favorite lecherous detective comes to the rescue. Mokkori! Claymore 1-4 – In a dark fantasy world, half-breed young women armed with gigantic swords must hunt down demons in the new adaptation of this popular Shounen Jump title. Code Geass 1-4 – Alternate reality Japan is ruled by the British Empire, but that rule is threatened when our radicalized teenage hero gains psychic powers and begins to rebel. Featuring CLAMP character designs. Dai Mahou Toge 3-6 – Wherein our magical princess mistress of submission wrestling and her yakuza mascot sidekick terrorize, well, everyone. Lyrical Tokarev, kill them all! Darker than Black 1-4 – A decade after a mysteroius forcefield appears in Tokyo, the psychics it created battle each other while trying to unlock it's mysteries. Death Note Live Action Movies 1 & 2 – A brilliant teenager finds a mystic notebook that will kill anyone whose name is written in it and decides this is his chance to create utopia, beginning a desperate manhunt to find him. Dirty Pair TV 3-5 – When things go wrong in the far future, troubleshooters Kei and Yuri investigate, at which point everything that can go wrong will go wrong. The catch: it's never their fault. Classic 80's SF comedy. Earthian 1-4 – Rival bishounen angels from Eden arrive on Earth and determine the fate of the planet through shounen ai overtones and lots of angst. El Hazard 1-7 – Three teens and a teacher are transported to a mysterious world where they use their new powers to do battle over princesses, demons, and bug armies. Comedy, adventure, and the early-90s Pioneer style. Galaxy Express 999 1-2 – Our plucky orphan hero, determined to become a cyborg, boards a space faring train with the beautiful, mysterious Maetel and travels across the galaxy stopping at worlds along the way. Gall Force Eternal Story – It's a little bit of Alien and a little bit of Planet of the Apes with an all female starship crew and their awesome oh-so-80s Kenici Sonoda stylings. Genshiken OVA 1-2 – More fun and games with the Shiiou University nerd convocation. These extra episodes introduce closet otaku Chika Ogiue and explore what happens when dorks shop for casual clothing. Giant Robo 1-7 – Unremittingly savage retro-style robot action from the mind of G Gundam creator Yasuhiro Imagawa. The Experts of Justice battle the forces of Big Fire with the aid of...you guessed it, a really giant robot. Gigantic Formula 1-2 – A collection of the best artists in modern mecha design jam together on a show about near-future warfare arbitrated by single robot combat. Gintama 1-4 – A slacktastic swordsman and his ramshackle squad of pals run a delivery service in Tokugawa-era Tokyo...not long after aliens land. Ultra-wacky action comedy based on the popular Shonen Jump strip. Gundam SEED C.E. 73 Stargazer 1-3 – Short sidestory OVAs in the aftermath of Gundam SEED Destiny. These tell a self-contained story starring several new variations on your favorite SEED mecha. Hataraki Man 1-3 – A young career woman tries to juggle her personal life and her job as a magazine reporter. Right now, she's not doing too well at it. A realistic mix of comedy and drama in equal measure. Hell Teacher Nubei 1-2 – Demons threaten a high school full of obnoxious children. It's the new teacher's job to take care of both problems. Features a killer theme song by the mighty FEEL SO BAD. Here is Greenwood 1-6 – As a late admission to a prestigious all-male high school, our hero finds himself the center of attention at the weirdest dorm on campus. Cue plenty of zany humor, cute guys, and even a touch of romance. Heroic Age 1-3 – Humanity reaches the stars to find that they're behind the curve, with a dominant civilization threatening extinction. In desperation, mankind (with the help of a feral boy) seek to understand the mysterious “Gold Race”. Hokuto no Ken: Raoh Gaiden Junai-hen – Part of a new movie re-telling and re-animating classic story arcs from the head-busting martial arts saga. Not to be missed for fans of out-there violent action. Honey and Clover II 1-12 – A dozen more episodes of life and love among starving young artists in Tokyo. If you'd like some more angst and mellow humor in your diet, here you go. Invincible Superman Zambot 3 Episode 1 – An early fave by Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino, bridging the gap between Mazinger Z and hard-core robot shows to come. Combines '70s super robot visuals with a grim, violent war story. Jin-Roh – In an alternate reality Japan, special armored police try to supress mass protests. When our protagonist fails to stop a suicide bomber, he begins a complex bit of soul searching. Intricate drama with intense action. Kaze no Stigma 1-3 – Rival families in a fantasy setting control different elements. When our heroine defeats her cousin with her fire powers, he becomes a powerful wind user – but is he the killer that arrives years later? Kemonozume 1-13 – The son of a long line of demon-hunting swordsman finds himself falling in love with a woman he's charged to kill. It may sound conventional, but the freakish visuals (courtesy of Studio 4oC) make this one not to be missed. Kiss Dum: Engage Planet 1-3 – It's the year 2031, the aliens have arrived, and, wouldn't you know it, they're trying to wipe out the human race. Man, I hate it when that happens. Military SF from the Crest of the Stars director. Koi no Mon: Otaku in Love – When two eccentric fans on the fringes of geek culture meet it's love at first sight. Well, maybe. Frentic, oddball live-action romantic comedy with all the otaku trappings, from Comiket to maid cafes. Koutetsu Sengokushi 1-2 - “Okay, how about a retelling of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, but with bishounen!” Lovely Complex 1 – A very tall high school girl looking for love falls for the new transfer student and conspires with her equally love-struck guy pal to pursue their romantic interests. Then she begins to fall for him... Lucky Star 1-2 – Ultra cute adaptation of a gag comic about rabid fangirls and their otaku passions, courtesy of Kyoto Animation and the director of Haruhi Suzumiya. Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro – Miyazaki's big-screen Lupin adventure, where the Gang infiltrates a small European country to stop the counterfeiters and rescue the girl, is an all-time classic. We can't recommend it enough. Lupin III: Missed by a Dollar – Meanwhile, this more recent Lupin outing has the Gang in hot pursuit of a priceless broach with ex-KGB agents hot on their tails. Maria-sama ga Miteru OVAs 1-3 – More lavishly animated adventures of the world's most sedate girl's Catholic school, where our overly anxious heroines agonize over the most trivial details in this strangely compelling shoujo ai drama. Mind Game – After being shot by gangsters our hero gets a second chance from God and he jumps back into life with gusto. Pity he also jumps into a whale. Studio 4oC's joyful, surreal, wildly animated masterpiece is crucial viewing. Moonlight Mile 1-4 – In the not too distant future, rival nations go to war over stores of nuclear fusion resources on the moon. Hard science fiction with a smooth mix of 2D and 3D animation. MS igLoo: Hidden One Year War 1-3 – All-3D movies exploring another side of the war from the original Mobile Suit Gundam TV show. Murder Princess 1-2 – A princess on the run from a coup d'etat finds herself switching bodies with a deadly bounty hunter. Can she rule the kingdom while disguised as a maid? More importantly, can she fight off twin android assassins? Naruto Movie 3 : Large Interest Stirred Up! Crescent Moon Island`s Animal Rebellion – The title says it all. Naruto Shippuuden 1-4 – After a long stretch of all-filler, no-killer, the wildly popular ninja series returns, it's heroes a few years older and determined to get back to the plot. Nasu: Summer in Andalusia – Short feature film in the Studio Ghibli style about a young bicycle racer reunited with his homeland. A fine mix of sports action and travelogue atmosphere. Natsuki Crisis 1-2 – Based on the bad-ass manga by Hirohisa Tsuruta, a chronicle of teenage martial-arts aces slugging it out. As realistic as fighting anime gets – recommended to fans of UFC-style competition. Negima Haru & Natsu OVAs – Continuing the story of the boy genius who teaches magic to a class full of older girls, these OVAs send the whole gang to the beach before offering a twist on the red string of fate. Negima!? 1 – By very special request, the first episode of the newly-retold Mahou Sensei Negima saga. Nodame Cantabile 1-4 – She's a deeply weird piano student with the potential of a prodigy. He's an uptight would-be conductor. Their friends at the music college are moderately insane. Cue classical music, romance, and wonderfully zany hijinx. Ookiku Furikabutte 1-2 – While an ace pitcher in middle school, our hero isn't sure he can make the cut in high school, but the baseball team is determined to prove him wrong in this adaptation of a Tezuka Cultural Award winner. Ouran High School Host Club – Several selected episodes of the wildly funny series about super-rich pretty-boy high-schoolers run amok. Also, catch the full series running on closed circuit. OverDrive 1-2 – A high-energy, Eurobeat drenched show about bicycle racing. Sure, it's the usual shounen sports formula, but, come on, bicycle racing! Patarillo 1-4 – We've shown this cult classic about the brat ruler of the world's richest nation, his “Bishounen Killer” bodyguard, and their absurdist adventures before, but now we can start at the beginning with newly presented, gorgeous looking episodes. Yes! Princess Resurrection 1-2 – It doesn't pay to visit spooky mansions, especially when you die while rescuing a girl who turns out to be a chainsaw wielding princess of monsters, even if she does resurrect you to be her servant. Project A-Ko – When unrequited love causes a wealthy genius to build giant robots to attack her ubermench arch-rival each day at high school, all hell breaks loose – and that's before the alien armada arrives to invade Earth. Project Blue Earth SOS 1 – Sure, it's aliens invading Earth yet again, but that can be forgiven when the animation features this much gloriously retro styling. Hearken back to the glorious future in this lavish OVA. Queen Millennia 1-2 – When the wandering planet of an advanced civilization passes by Earth, our planet will be destroyed unless the Millennium Queen can save us. Classic early-80s old school Matsumoto Reiji goodness. Record of Lodoss Wars 1-13 – In a high fantasy setting plagued by war, a band of noble heroes goes on an epic quest to restore peace in this early-90s OVA fan favorite. Red Garden 1-3 – When a classmate's body is found in the woods, four students at a high school in New York City find themselves drawn into a murder mystery with supernatural elements, not to mention musical numbers. Rocket Girls 1-3 – Japan's bold new space program promises the heavens...if they can just find astronauts small enough to fit in the rocket. Fortunatly, Japan has a powerful resource available: high school girls. Romeo x Juliet 1-3 – It may be called Neo Verona, but the city still plays host to drama about star crossed lovers. Studio Gonzo follows their adaptation of the Count of Monte Cristo with this stylish SF twist on The Bard. Sasuga no Sarutobi 2-3 – Despite being completely rotund, Sarutobi is a master ninja and is dating the cutest girl at his all-ninja high school in this classic early-80s comedy. In these episodes, we meet his unusual family, followed by yakuza hijinx. Seirei no Noribito 1-3 – In this fantasy saga when a wandering warrior rescues a prince, she becomes his bodyguard, an especially dangerous task when his father is trying to kill him. Lavish animation from Production IG. Seto no Hanayome 1-3 – Mermaid law demands death if a human sees their true form, but when our hero rescues a beautiful mermaid, he can marry her to stay alive. No problem, right? Well, turns out her family are gangsters... Sgt. Frog Movie 1 – While the alien frog plans to conquer Earth have been thwarted thanks to friendship, romance, and Gundam model kits, things become touch and go when all of Tokyo becomes telepathic in this zany adventure. Shining Tears X Wind 1 – Teenagers transported to a mysterious fantasy world must save the day and find their way home in this RPG adaptation. Shogun Assassin – Animeigo's remastered version of the cult classic rebuilds Roger Corman's bloody samurai mashup with super-clean video and the original dub soundtrack in this grindhouse version of the Lone Wolf and Cub films. Sisters of Wellber 1-2 – When you're a princess on the lam trying to prevent war, you've got to find your allies where you can, even if it means hitting the road with a mysterious cat burgler. Skull Man 1-2 – In an alternate version of maybe-modern Japan, lycanthropic monsters and a dangerous vigilante stalk an extraterritorial enclave by night. Song of the Wind and the Trees – The vastly influential early shounen ai story of a 19th century French boarding school, a new student, his emotionally damaged roomate, and their tragic relationship. Soukou no Strain 1-13 – Continuing in her family's military tradition, our space opera heroine is disgraced and demoted after her brother turns traitor, forcing her to begin as a mecha pilot from the beginning in order to face him. Souten no Ken 1 – Kenshiro is everyone's favorite post-apocalyptic warrior, but few know that he represents generations-old martial arts tradition. See one of his ancestors use the First of the North Star in 1930's Shanghai. Space Runaway Ideon: A Contact – Human space colonists discover a dangerously powerful war machine, as well as the alien armada that wants to get their hands on it. This movie retells the original TV series. Space Runaway Ideon: Be Invoked – The ending that couldn't fit in the Ideon TV show is realized in this second film. Perhaps the most apocalyptic conclusion in the history of Japanese animation. Tekkaman Blade 1-2 – In the year 2300, the Space Knights desperately try to hold off an alien invasion, accepting the help of the mysterious warrior known only as Blade. Tengen Toppa Guren-Lagann 1-4 – Gainax's incredibly over the top train wreck between FLCL and Mazinger Z drags our underground urchin to the surface to do surreal battle with the aid of his drill festooned giant robot. No, really. It's awesome. Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou Tou 1-14 – High-speed, all-out action about juvenile delinquents and transfer students who do their part to keep the living dead at bay while recruiting their classmates to help fend off horrible demons. Towards the Terra 1-4 – After fleeing the environmentally destroyed Earth, humanity's diaspora is ruled over by a master computer that hunts down emerging psychics who go underground and dream of returning home. Gorgeous new TV adaptation of Keiko Takemiya's classic manga. Venus Versus Virus 1-2 – Seeing ghosts was bad enough, but when Sumire starts seeing demons she's in deep trouble. Fortunatly, that's when the gothic lolita teenager with the handcannons shows up, saves the day, and plugs the boutique she works at. Victorian Romance Emma Second Act – The cross-class romance between a young nobleman and his former teacher's maid continues with wonderful characters, sparkling dialouge, and plenty of historical detail. Welcome to the NHK 1-4 – A shut-in college dropout (he hasn't left his apartment in three years) encounters various dangerous influences and gradually descends into madness. Vicious, cruel, and painfully funny. X2 Music Video – CLAMP's epic saga of super-powered battles between the forces of good and evil was first animated as this promo video, set to the glorious hair metal stylings of X-Japan. If you only watch three minutes of anime at the convention, make it these three minutes. Closed Circuit Schedule Code Geass – See above. Cyber Formula GPX Sin and Zero OVAs – Hayato Kazami is a rising star of the hi-tech, computer assisted Cyber Formula racing circuit. In these two short series, he must overcome a serious injury to return to racing and defend his title against an old rival while mastering the new Ogre AN-21 BioComputer racer. Macross 7 – Years after the original Macross series, giant colony ships seek out new frontiers in space. When Colony Ship 7 is attacked by mysterious aliens, Mylene Genius and her rock band Fire Bomber must fend off the enemy with the power of song. Yes, it's incredibly goofy, but once the series gets going it provides a deliriously exuberant successor to the SF classic. Listen to my song! Nana Live-Action Movie – From the creator of Paradise Kiss. Ai Yazawa's epic soap opera about punk rockers in Tokyo adapted in this movie, starring real live human beings.
