Amongst the speakers tomorrow beginning at 2 pm are Deanna Marcum, Associate Librarian for Library Services, Library of Congress; Michael C. Ruettgers, Senior Advisor and retired Chairman, EMC Corporation; Robert Martin (Ph.D. ‘88) Professor, Lillian Bradshaw Endowed Chair and Professor at Texas Women’s University School of Library and Information Science who will present a tribute to Dr. Louis Round Wilson (namesake of Louis Round Wilsock).

Music next weekend – RAC and Carrboro Music Fest

Saturday Sept 23 will see the First Annual Play it Forward Benefit Concert on the Southern Village Green, Chapel Hill NC 5pm-11pm. This special evening will feature live music, food, drinks and information booths. Put on by Rock Against Cancer.
Featuring the following Bands:
• The Old Ceremony
• High & Mighties
• Joceifus Rifle
• Union Jack
And Isaac Akers on fiddle.

On Sunday, the Carrboro Music Festival will feature 150 combos at 21 different venues within only a few blocks of each other. This little ole movie will help explain why 10,000 people came to listen to music in Carrboro last year.

WCOM – DanceJam becomes Smith Middle Show

The new Radio Club at Smith Middle School is now running the WCOM Sunday 2 – 4 slot at 103.5 LPFM. They are looking for a title and a theme song. I suggested Elvis Costello‘s “Radio, Radio” or Joe Jackson‘s “On your Radio”, but they have some age on them. What’s good for teens these days?
