the :) & :(

:) check out: http://www.workbook.com

	1. downloadability addressed simply & immediately.
	2. easy to navigate
	3. aesthetics: bold colors against a simple white= effective eye appeal.
fresh, funky fun theme for icons.
good use of white space= overall uncluttered look for a
site that otherwise contains a whole heckuvalot of picts,
		 gifs & info.
:) my votes & a few suggestions to doubletake magazine:
    www.doubletakemagazine.org
	1. simplicity is a gem.
	2. along the same strand though, I thought it would have been more
helpful to have a small font index, perhaps in a tool bar format at the
top of pages that need to be scrolled or in a frame along the side. This
way, when one wants the impatient online mag reader can jump immediately
to a section later down on the page without having to wade through the
	entire table of contents.

:( www.bsa.scouting.org:
c'mon, I'm no expert, but would boys really find this site to be a
cool representation of what the scouts are all about? adventure, sweat &
fraternity? image is not everything, but is one of the main reasons why
organizations build web pages. web pages can be rather cost-effective PR
entities for recruitment. Stylistic inconsistencies may unnerve browsing
parents as well.

some suggestions:
	1. indicies at top or as frame on side of pages,
especially for those in which all info. are buried below an unclickable
	screen spanning image.

	2. Enlarge & include more picts of boys roughin' it: I think what
gets boys to stay w/ the scouts as they age out of elementary
school has more to do w/adrenaline pumping fun than honor, team building schticks.

	3. Refresh layout w/ less writing or smaller fonts & more
energy(visual impact) to appeal to a broader audience.

Regards,

May.
