I'll try again --

  :)

  http://www.musicblvd.com (now cdnow.com)

Lots of table use and small images equals fast download. Yahoo-esque
categories, many links, two search engine forms and a language selector
right on the front page for ease of use. Huge inventory, available online
samples are convenient, and the site is visually appealing in a faux-raver
meets corpo-putty kind of way.

  :(

http://www.microsoft.com no, it's not too easy:

Page has been consistently (for years) slow to load, *if* anything
displays in _Netscape_ once the downloads finish. Information overload,
internal links take the user in circles in many cases, and any ZDNet
articles or other web publications that attempt to link into a sub-section
of Microsoft produce a 404 message because Microsoft restructures its web
site every few months with no pointers or redirects. Site also has a
history of demanding personal information and/or using Internet Explorer
to access product updates, etc. ugh.

  Thanks,
