What Are The Benefits Of Chinese Tea

Heart HealthSome evidence shows that Chinese tea benefits heart health. For example, one study published in April 2006 in the "International Journal of Cardiology" found that green tea helped to improve coronary flow-velocity reserve performance. Coronary flow-velocity reserve is a test that shows how well the heart arteries are functioning. Green tea produced the most significant effects compared to oolong and black tea. Green tea has more antioxidants, green tea pills fat burner or compounds that scavenge harmful substances in the body, according to the researchers. The flavonoids in Chinese tea were suspected by the researchers to produce these outcomes on heart health. Flavonoids are the pigmented compounds that plants use for many biological purposes, such as the conversion of solar energy to a useable form of energy for the plant. In the human body, Chinese tea flavonoids have antithrombogenic functions. This means that they have a tendency to prevent clotting of the blood.

Brain FunctionEvidence shows that Chinese tea can protect against cognitive decline, particularly in older adults. A study published in "The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition" in July 2008 of over 2500 adults age 55 and older determined that black and oolong tea related to less cognitive impairment and decline. Cognitive function was assessed in areas such as memory, the ability to pay attention and visuospatial ability, traditional chinese tea egg recipe or the ability to perceive the spatial relationship between objects. However, green tea didn't show improvement in cognitive function. While green tea is higher in antioxidants, only black and oolong tea contain the plant chemicals theaflavins and thearubigins. Green Tea Multiple Sclerosis

AntioxidantsPolyphenol antioxidants in green tea extract improve multiple sclerosis symptoms by inhibiting certain enzymes that promote the disease, according to a study published in the March 2011 issue of the journal "Neurochemical Research, In the tissue culture study, nerve cells exposed to green tea extract showed lower levels of tissue-degrading matrix metalloproteinase enzymes. Researchers concluded that green tea and other foods high in polyphenol antioxidants may be a powerful tool in the treatment of multiple sclerosis.

Anti-InflammatoryJapanese researchers reported that green tea's anti-inflammatory properties may be helpful in preventing and treating chronic inflammatory diseases, including green tea extract benefits dr oz multiple sclerosis. Green tea inhibits a compound known as tissue necrosis factor, which promotes tumor formation and inflammation. In the study on laboratory animals, four months of green tea supplementation inhibited tissue necrosis factor and interleukin, another pro-inflammatory molecule. The study was published in the April 2001 issue of the "Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences,

Nerve DamageResearchers at the Institute of Neuroimmunology of the Neuroscience Research Center in Berlin, Germany found that the green tea compound epigallocatechin-3-gallate, EGCG, suppressed a laboratory animal form of multiple sclerosis. In the study, EGCG reduced symptoms dramatically when given at or after the onset of symptoms. EGCG also protected against nerve damage in the brain. Researchers concluded that green tea may offer a viable natural option for treating and preventing multiple sclerosis and other inflammatory brain diseases by exerting both anti-inflammatory and nerve-protective benefits.

significant weight loss and a decreased body mass index

About Green Tea Helping With Weight Loss

Active Compound in Green TeaThe tea plant is naturally high in a group of antioxidants known as catechins. Green tea offers more catechins than black tea because its production involves less processing and fermentation. Catechins are found in green tea (1 cup offers 142 mg), chocolate (4 oz offers 53 mg) and black tea (1 cup black tea contains 27 mg). Catechins may aid weight loss in two ways. They inhibit the breakdown of fats, and they inhibit the production of an inflammatory agent in the body that triggers hunger.

Green Tea Extract for Weight Loss?GreenSelect Phytosome is a recently developed green tea extract oral supplement (GTE). It was tested in a study published in Alternative Medicine Reviews. One hundred obese men and women were put on a reduced-calorie diet. Half of the participants took the GTE supplement and consumed a reduced-calorie diet, and the other half followed only the diet. After 90 days, significant weight loss and a decreased body mass index (BMI) were observed in the group taking the GTE supplement (a 14-kg loss in the treated group compared with a 5-kg loss in the diet-only group). Waist circumference was reduced only in male participants.

Catechins and Fat OxidationA study published by the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition investigated whether the green tea extract (containing caffeine and the catechin known as epigallocatechin gallate, or EG), could increase energy expenditure (EE) and fat oxidation (burning of fat) over 24 hours in humans. On three separate occasions, ten healthy men were randomly assigned to receive one of the following at breakfast, lunch and dinner: green tea extract (50 mg of caffeine and 90 mg of EG), caffeine (50 mg) and a placebo. This study concluded that green tea promotes fat oxidation beyond that which could be explained by the caffeine content.

Does Physical Activity Enhance the Effectiveness?Another study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition investigated the effects of acute GTE ingestion on glucose tolerance and fat oxidation while participants performed moderately intense exercise. Twelve healthy men engaged in 30 minutes of cycling before and after taking venti green tea latte caffeine GTE supplements. In the second phase, the same men took an oral glucose tolerance test before chinese teapot and after supplementation. The supplement(s) consisted of three capsules containing either GTE (366 +/- 5 mg EG) or a placebo made of corn flour.

On average, fat oxidation rates were 17 percent higher in the GTE group. The exercise enhances insulin sensitivity in both groups, but the GTE group had a 13 percent greater increase in insulin sensitivity, meaning those individuals would have better blood sugar control.

SignificanceGreen tea seems to be a low-risk complementary therapy for many conditions, and the evidence and findings from these scientific studies appear to be quite convincing in relation to weight and fat oxidation, particularly in the presence of moderate physical activity.

Drinking just three glasses of green tea daily may contribute to a reduction in body weight and waist circumference (women with a waist of greater than 35 inches and men with a waist of greater than 40 inches are at a much greater risk of cardiovascular disease than their slimmer counterparts) by almost 5 percent in three months. More research is needed to draw conclusions that would lead to specific recommendations.

Let's say I like really strong tea, so I put 2 tsp. of loose leaf green in 6 oz of water, will the increased amount of tea yield double the catechins or is there a saturation ratio of catechins to water that would only allow 142mg per 6 oz water?

Am I essentially "wasting" that second tsp. of loose leaf tea if my goal is maximum consumption of catechins for weight/fat loss?

What about loose leaf tea (whole leaves, usually better quality) compared to the off-the-shelf tea bags with the pulverized tea? Would the catechins be more or less that 142mg in the loose leaf vs. the bags? Conversely, would catechins be released more readily from the pulverized tea in the bags?

Not that this really matters, per se, but these are the kinds of things I think about when reading articles like this. About Frs Health Energy Drink

QuercetinQuercetin is a flavonoid that gives plants, fruits and vegetables their color; it is also considered to be a powerful antioxidant. The University of Maryland Medical Center, or UMM, reports that quercetin removes free radicals from the body, green tea latte caffeine, preventing them <a href="/" target="_blank">chinese tea cups bulk</a> from causing disease and damaging DNA. Additionally, quercetin has demonstrated antihistamine and anti-inflammatory properties. In addition to FRS, this antioxidant can be found in citrus fruits, tea, red wine, blueberries, chinese tea egg recipe, cherries and blackberries.

Green Tea ExtractGreen tea extract is made from unfermented tea leaves and contains a large amount of antioxidants called polyphenols. Polyphenols remove free radicals caused by pollution, sun exposure and other environmental toxins from the body. The UMM also reports that antioxidants, including polyphenols, may slow the age progression caused by free radicals. In addition to energy and anti-aging properties, green tea extract is also thought to assist in healing, digestion, regulation of blood sugar and <a href="/green-teas/" target="_blank">green tea caffeine mg</a> body temperature, and improved mental functioning.

Vitamins B, C and EThe B vitamins are known to promote the healthy production and function of red blood cells; they also assist in nutrient absorption and in breaking down protein, carbohydrates and fats. In addition to FRS, bananas, salmon, dairy products and eggs provide B vitamins. Vitamins C and E are powerful antioxidants that assist in energy production and proper cellular function, including producing strong bones and healthy skin cells.
