I presume one can select the Preference, in whatever program you use, that is similar to what is in Netscape: --------- In my Preferences: Netscape>Preferences>Mail>Send Format In Send Format, select the second option: When sending messages in HTML format and one or more recipients are not listed as being able to receive HTML: 1. __ Ask me what to do (Mail prompts you to choose a format 2. No, the only laziness I can see is at theporch.com. HTML in email is here to stay - it has for many years. Also available for many years is properly configured email list software, with things like filters to change the HTML laden incoming mail to plaintext outgoing posts. There really is no acceptable reason why theporch has not upgraded years ago so the problem would vanish. I do not recall ever hearing any sort of reason given by theporch why nothing is ever done. Yet every so often we get bugged for donations. Ego trip or laziness on the part of the senders? I do not think so. Keep in mind that HTML email is default for many services, and that they really want to work with the rest of the world, not a backwards email list like this. Often when things go wrong they fall back to the default. When other family members might want to send smileys in their emails, they get switched to the default. On reinstallments, they often go to the default. And often it is not blantantly obvious that anything has changed to the user. Hell, even my email may be bouncing back and forth from plaintext to HTML - and unless someone pulls me to the side and tells me, I just assume it is plaintext. I had just about enough. If theporch wants to put me in the penalty box or show me the door - well, my ass awaits its boot. -- Will ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 27 Jan 2007 07:53:55 -0700 (MST) From: Richard Loken Subject: Re: truncated messages To: Old Tube Radios Cc: Old Tube Radios Message-id: MIME-version: 1.0 Content-type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII On Sat, 27 Jan 2007, William Donzelli wrote: > No, the only laziness I can see is at theporch.com.
