I bought an NCX-5 recently and when it arrived it had the same issue. I pushed the bushing back in where it belonged and it now is fine. After 15 years my trusty HP-606A has suddenly ceased rf output. This thing has run like a locomotive and been as dependable as can be. The audio modulation is apparently still OK, as indicated by the output meter. The real potential tragedy is that in doing a couple of quick first checks I found an unblown (fortunately?) 2 amp fuse in the .15 amp rated B+ line! While it is too soon to say what's wrong, the key learning, so often repeated, is always check the ratings of all the fuses in purchased equipment! My 606A has had this fuse for all its 15 years with me, and who knows how long before that. Shame on me! Now, to start tearing into it. I have the Operation manual with it, which covers the alignment procedure but does not have the diagrams locating the alignment points. Does anyone have a copy of the diagrams that show the Test Points and identifies the Alignment Points? This is referred to as the "Illustration Booklet" in the Operation manual however, I only need the test and alignment points. I found a copy of the schematic on the net but, strangely, it does not identify the test points. I have found a couple of places where I can order the complete set of manuals but was hoping someone had a scan that could be emailed so I could take care of that project this weekend.
