I had a Heath SW-7800 ss rcvr, abt 1983-4, given to me Thurs nite. It never did work, the guy that gave it to me had it given to him by the orig. owner, but he never looked at it, other than enough to say that the display doesn't work. Has a manual, but none of the loose paperwork, like schematic. Oughta be a half decent bandcruiser if it'd work, maybe something to keep on the boat for listening around.. Does anyone have a schematic they could scan, or make a paper cc & mail it to me? Glad to pay costs, etc. Did scour Google's results, nothing found except a few others in the same predicament a yr or 3 ago. thanks, 73, Al, W8UT New Bern, NC www.boatanchors.org www.hammarlund.info ------------------------------ Message-ID: <002c01c7d900$7c93d900$3b9f480c@KB6NAX> From: "Arden Allen" To: Old Tube Radios Subject: Re: What's Up with 6HS6?? Stevens this weekend Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit The NorthWest Military Radio Enthusiasts group will be operating from Fort Stevens Oregon this coming weekend. Fort Stevens is a coastal defense installation at the mouth of the Columbia River, near Astoria Oregon. The Fort was active from Civil War times until WWII but is now an Oregon State Park with campgrounds, a small museum, and many outdoor exhibits & fortifications which are open to the public. The NWMRE group plans HF operations commencing Thursday Aug 9 in late afternoon and continuing until early afternoon on Sunday Aug 12. We will be on 3996 KHz USB at the top of the hour, and on 7296 at H+15min. Also, hoping against hope that HF propagation is on the upswing, we will also frequently try both the 10M armyradios calling freq of 28465 KHz USB and the hfpack freq of 18157.5 KHz USB. There will be FM ops on 51.0 MHz & 52.525 MHz. For HF ops we will set up a good-sized v-beam, and will also be using a variety of both military & commercial antennas. Radios in use will include PRC-104s and a PRC-174, GRC-9s, a Sunair URC-92, and a TRC-75 in an M38A1 jeep. VHF FM ops will use PRC-77s, a PRC-124, several PRC-68s, plus whatever else the usual suspects can dredge up from their various garages. This NWMRE activity is in conjunction with an Oregon Military Vehicle Collectors Club outing at Ft. Stevens. The OMVCC will have vehicles on display at the Fort for the entire weekend and there will be several vehicle parades through the Ft. Stevens campground. Also, "Friends of Willie & Joe" will be at Fort Stevens for the weekend and will be involved in several WWII re-enactments. So join us this weekend, either on the air or better yet, drop in at Fort Stevens and say hello in person. 73 David Ross N7EPI ------------------------------ From: WA5CAB@cs.com Message-ID: Date: Wed, 8 Aug 2007 21:35:34 EDT Subject: Re: Free Technical Books To: Old Tube Radios MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/alternative; boundary="part1_cd2.17b3a461.33ebc966_boundary" --part1_cd2.17b3a461.33ebc966_boundary Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit And I am sure that we are supposed to assume that whoever uploaded this stuff arranged for copyright releases from the various publishers. One effect of the change meant that stuff copyrighted before that date had to be renewed. Most stuff was not renewed so a check with the feds would quickly reveal what was still copyrighted and what was not. Even some large publishers, in particular the folks that published Sam's Photofacts, failed to renew their copyrights so it is all in the public domain now. I suspect that most early radio stuff was published by people who were no longer in business when the change was made or just failed to renew the copyrights on "that old stuff." -----Original Message----- From: owner-boatanchors@theporch.com [mailto:owner-boatanchors@theporch.com]On Behalf Of WA5CAB@cs.com Sent: Wednesday, August 08, 2007 8:36 PM To: Old Tube Radios Subject: Re: Free Technical Books And I am sure that we are supposed to assume that whoever uploaded this stuff arranged for copyright releases from the various publishers. Here's my favorite summary page on this topic. http://www.unc.edu/~unclng/public-d.htm If copyright was 1923 to 1963, renewal was required to extend the copyright. If not, now public domain. Back in them thar days, you had to send the info into the Registrar of Copyrights. Not so anymore. Millett has done us a great service by making available a gigabyte of now public domain stuff. I've had his site linked for about a year. The old DJs are onboard the LV18 lightship, playing actual vinyl records from 1964-7 when they were originally on the air, commemorating the week in 1967 when British laws finally forced them off the air. Ironically, forty years later the pirate voices are being broadcast via several BBC medium wave outlets, as well as via Real Audio throughout the world: http://www.bbc.co.uk/essex/local_radio/ 73, Bob W9RAN ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 12 Aug 2007 14:42:24 -0800 Subject: Service manuals for sale From: John Gibson To: Old Tube Radios Message-ID: Mime-version: 1.0 Content-type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-transfer-encoding: 7bit Manuals are originals in clean condition.
