It is accessible via the London Railway system. Great place to spend the day and bring along your camera. I missed Bletchley Park when I was there in 1978. Marconi Marine had some of Marconi's antique gear in a small museum located in Chelmsford, Essex. Chelmsford was the headquarters city for Marconi Marine, formerly known as Marconi Wireless and Telegraph Co., Ltd. I am sure the operations in Chelmsford have stopped since I was there in 1978 as all the Radio Officers were done away with in the late 1990's worldwide (well almost worldwide.) Mostly satellite communications in use now. A telegraph key is as foreign to the mariner today as the sextant on the navigation bridge! Visited the London Science museum in 1984. In the Radio area, they had a cockpit section of a Lancaster bomber that well illustrated the problem of hearing radio communication over the engine noise. Perhaps that exhibit is gone. I couldn't find it with Google. Jim had held a few back, a small stash which was never sold but reportedly that stash was bought somehow by Chuck Groome; K5CEG now in Garland, TX. I have heard he will sell you a belt but have not confirmed that. The center shaft has a tiny ball bearing affixed to the end of the shaft. The shaft is held in place in an outer shaft by three ball bearings. On this center shaft, the tiny ball bearing is busted off the end. I tried a fix with a gel super glue but it wouldn't hold. does anyone have a better fix, a shaft needing a home or perhaps a junky unit with a good shaft? Thanks. Gary H.
