Subject: rocks for 160 & 80?
There was considerable discussion re BA & GB freqs
on these two bands, but I'm not aware that any
actual freqs were chosen. As I'm about to enter
one of my regular poverty periods, I'd like
to get some real numbers down so that I can get
my order in before the cash flow dries up ;-)
I'm loaded with 40-meter xtals and have one for
30 meters, but none for the two lower bands.
How about four or five good choices for each band,
with a couple of AM freqs in each?

Hi Tom,
For 80, the colorburst frequency 3579 khz is the big one to have and
xtals for that frequency are plenty cheap. For 160, we have been
using 1802.5 for cw work. 1843 khz rocks are cheap too, but cw and am
are not too highly thought of on that qrg. Maybe 1930 khz would be a
good am spot. Anyone familiar with the customary usage on the top end
of 160?

Conard

Conard,
I think the "popular" freqs for 160AM are: 1885, 1900, 1945, and 1985 kcs. It
would be nice to settle on one so I can build my little 160 rig in time for
Winter!
