And secondly, the term organic is commonly used and accepted as an agriculture system. Steve Diver ============================================= Two examples from Journal of Economic Entomology, June 2000: 1. Potential of Entomopathogenic nematodes for biological control of Acalymma vittatum (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) in cucumbers grown in conventional and organic management systems, p. 605-612. "Our research showed that S. riobravis was capable of causing an =50% decrease in survival of laval of A. vittatum in both the organic and conventional soil management systems under commercial field conditions." "The work was funded, in part, by grants from USDA SARE (LNE92-3) and the USDA Pesticide Alternatives Program (96-4363-2707). Location: Pennsylvania 2. Effect of silver reflective mulch and a summer squash trap crop on densisties of immature Bemisa argentifolii (Homoptera: Aleyrodidae) on organic bean, p. 726-731. "The current study was conducted as part of an effort to find methods suitable for organic growers." "The study was made possible by a grant from the Southeastern Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education program of the USDA." Location: Florida ===================================================
