Based on this description I'd say there's a good chance that you have a perennial called Fritillaria. It's a bulb and in the lily family, known for its skunk-like odor which supposedly repels "varmints" from your garden. Check out a good picture-perennial book from the library and see if you get a close picture to this one! Hope this helps. Bye for now! Let's tell the wife it's a weed. ;) A lily or an arum lily? Arum lilies aren't really lilies...they all have that spike and a single colored bract (that isn't really a petal) beside or surrounding the spike. Their leaves are oval or arrowhead-shaped and have branching veins. True lilies have 3 or 6 true petals, and their leaves are parallel--long and thin sorta like giant thick grass blades, with veins running parallel down the whole length & no branching. --Bill --- Renegade v1-2 Exp * Origin: Growing by the River of Life: @c @d Fido 1:125/39 (1:125/39) @PATH: 125/39 37 3615/50 3641/1 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (640) Mon 26 Dec 94 14:28 By: Lee Follweiler To: Doug Swanson Re: Stinky Plant ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- @TID: HyperMail! v1.10 UR-00465 DS>Can you describe it?
