I have a 38 acre tract located on a four lane highway with a population of 75,000 within 30 miles. The property is located in a summer vacation/resort area. The land is high and wet. It can be easily drained. I intend to log the property this year. I will clearcut approximately 80% of the tract. I am exploring options for how to use the profit from the sale of the timber; pond digging, replanting of trees, field clearing and improving drainage are all possible options. My goal is to develop a "farm" based on some of the principles outlined in the book written by Doctor Booker T. Whatley, "How to Make $100,000 Farming 25 Acres". Products and services I would like to consider providing are; products such as crayfish, fire wood, sawn wood, blueberries, strawberries; value added products such as bird houses and rustic furniture; and finally services such as horse boarding, lawn care and tree trimming. Thank-you for your comments and suggestions, Jim Hamrick --- * Origin: [via Psychotronic BBS = Durham, NC = 919-286-4542]America (1:3641/1) @PATH: 3641/1 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- (67) Fri 2 Dec 94 1:27 By: dg26 To: All Re: kenaf ---------------------------------------------------------------------- @MSGID: 1:3641/223 0006aab3 @PID GIGO+ sn 175 at psybbs vsn 0.99 pl1 From: David_L_GREENE@umail.umd.edu (dg26) @Subject: kenaf Date: 2 Dec 1994 01:27:36 -0000 @Sender: daemon@bigblue.oit.unc.edu @Message-Id: <9412011942.AA16262@umailsrv1.UMD.EDU> Where would I find information for the production and marketing of kenaf?
