ORGANIC-MINERAL INTERACTIONS IN SOILS AND SEDIMENTS

28-29 JUNE 1995, NEWCASTLE-UPON-TYNE

A meeting sponsored jointly by:

Mineralogical Society (Geochemistry and Clay Minerals
Groups)
British Soil Science Society
International Humic Substances Society (British and Irish
Chapters)

In this rapidly developing field, cosponsorship reflects
our aims of cross-fertilisation between soil chemists,
sedimentary geochemists, environmental chemists and
biogeochemists. Topics to be considered include:

* influence on mineral precipitation / dissolution
* controls in the preservation and destruction of
   organic matter and pollutants
* role in soil sediment aggregations
* characterisation and interactions of inorganic and
  organic colloids

If you are interested in presenting a paper or poster at
this meeting, please send a 300 word abstract to any of
the convenors:

ABSTRACT DEADLINE IS 10 DECEMBER 1994

We are intending to publish as many of the contributions
as possible in a thematic issue of Organic Geochemistry
in early 1996, subject to normal
peer review. In order to meet this tight schedule,
manuscripts must be brought to the meeting.

A second circular will be mailed in January 1995 with
details of costs, accommodation and the programme.
