The recent discussion on ethnobotany has given me the motivation to unleash an idea I've had for a few months. I have created the beginnings of an Ethnobotany World Wide Web on one of Miami's small UNIX machines. For those of you who aren't familiar with the Web or Mosaic, I apologize for not elaborating. Find your local net-head and get them to show it to you, you will be amazed! So my question is, Are there other Web pages out there devoted to ethnobotany or ethnobiology in general? If so, drop me a line and lets link up. The page is extremely skeletal at this time, mostly due to the time constraints that finishing a thesis impose, but I should be able to devote some more time to building it in a few weeks. If you are reading this message, you are already a part of the information elite. Those of us interested in the interactions between culture and nature and in the preservation and protection of indigenous knowledge need to be more aware of what each others projects. Formal journal publications and bbs are great, the web is yet another way to educate and organize ourselves. The URL for the page is http://nextsrv.cas.muohio.edu/~fajones/ethno.html. If you are interested and have some ideas, drop me a line. Cheers. Andy ****************************************************************** F.
