After introductions, Fee Busby presented an overview of Network accomplishments from inception in 1989 and explored the great potential for continuing Network success in the support of sustainable agriculture.~ ~ The Regular Membership, by way of a proper motion, voted unanimously to suspend for the duration of this meeting the bylaw provision which permits only Regular Members to vote so that all in attendance could fully participate with the conduct of all other business at this meeting.~ ~ Those in attendance then considered and voted on proposed changes to Network Bylaws, to wit: Article I. was amended to match the Vision statement of the Network; Article II., Section 3., was amended to require the payment of a subscription fee for the Network Newsletter, or make it available by other means as determined by the Board of Directors; Article IV, Section 3., was amended to appoint the time and place of the Annual First Meeting of the Board of Directors and outline specific items of business to be addressed at said meeting.~ ~ The proposed amendment to Article IV. Section 2., which lengthened and overlapped terms of elected Board Members, received a predominantly favorable vote, however the motion failed to pass due to the 2/3 majority required to amend the Bylaws.~ ~ Teresa Maurer presented a slate of eleven candidates for election to six Board of Directors posts. Nominations from the floor brought a twelfth candidate. The recommended voting procedure requested that those present each cast votes for six candidates. The top 6 vote getters, together with Luane Schroeder serving as Past-Chair, would compose the 1993 Board of Directors with the next 6 vote getters, by rank, serving as Board Alternates. Votes were tabulated with the following results:~ ~ 1993 Elected Board of Directors: Keith Patterson, Jim Lukens, Sue Floyd, Fee Busby, Christine Weiss, Larry Williams. 1993 Board of Directors Alternates: John Matthews, Shawn Gralla, Jim Horne, John Boyd, Richard Drewry, Henry Pearson.~ ~ ================================================~ NETWORK DIRECTORS ELECT OFFICERS, PLAN FOR 1993:~ ------------------------------------------------~ On December 19, 1992 the 1993 Board of Directors (BoD) elected, by acclamation, the following BoD Members as Officers: Jim Lukens, Chair; Larry Williams, Vice-Chair; Christine Weiss, Secretary; Sue Floyd, Treasurer. In accord of the amended Bylaws, these Officers comprise the Network's Leadership Team.~ ~ Other actions taken by the BoD at that meeting and the meeting held January 26, 1993, included an extensive review of Network finances, ~ (page 2)~ motions to clean-up unfinished business from 1992, and the appointment of planning teams for the Network's Mid-summer and Annual Membership Meetings.
