Last year's tours were such a success we've brought them back--and expanded our tour area to include Utah. This year PCEI is also incorporating conventional farms using sustainable practices in two of our tours. The goal of these tours is to increase knowledge, understanding, and support of organic and sustainable agriculture. As a participant in these tours you will have the opportunity to see, first hand, organic and other sustainable food production systems for a variety of products, and meet the people involved. These tours are open to all who wish to gain a better understanding of certified organic and other sustainable production methods. TOURS WILL BE OFFERED IN : CENTRAL IDAHO (Moscow/ Pullman Area) 7/20/96 (Organic and Sustainable half day tour) CENTRAL WASHINGTON (Yakima Area) 8/8/96 (Organic and Sustainable half day tour) CENTRAL UTAH (Salt Lake City Area) 8/17/96 (Organic full day tour) WESTERN WASHINGTON (Skagit Area) 9/8/96 (Organic full day tour) SOUTHERN IDHAO (Boise Area) 9/14/96 (Organic full day tour) These tours are a project of PCEI's Sustainable Agriculture Program, which develops and pursues projects that focus on conservation of natural resources and the sustainable future of agriculture and rural communities. This project was made possible by the collaborative support of Idaho, Utah, and Washington Departments of Agriculture, Washington Tilth, Idaho Organic Producers Association, and the Northern Utah Organic Growers. Half-day tours are $10 per person for advance registration or $15 after July 15. Full day tours are $15 for advance registration or $15 after July 15. Space is limited so please register by July 15.
