This directory contains two new research papers on theoretical models
of stripe formation in early embryo development of Drosophila.

Positional_Info.*	Reinitz et al. (1992) Model for cooperative
technical report	control of positional information in Drosophila
figures included	by bicoid and maternal hunchback.

grad.* Kerszberg and Changeux (1994) A model for
PNAS pre-print	reading morphogenetic gradients: Autocatalysis
figures missing	and competition at the gene level.

See the individual README files for brief abstracts and other information.

Although distribution of pre-prints and technical reports via the Internet
has become commonplace in some fields of science, it is still largely new
to the biology research community. I am very pleased to be able to promote
the development of this new vehicle for the exchange of information among
biologists, through the Ecology and Evolution archive on www.ibiblio.org.
