BACKUP ...BKP THIS IS A VERSION OF THE INCREMENTAL DUMP PROGRAM WHICH CAN BE USED TO DUMP A GROUP OF FILES TO A TAPE FILE IN THAT FORMAT. THE TAPE MUST BE MOUNTED AND IS ACCESSED AS A FILESTRUCTURED DEVICE. THE RESULT OF DUMPING THE FILES TO TAPE IS ALSO THE NOTIFICATION OF THE DUMP SYSTEM THAT THE FILES HAVE BEEN DUMPED ALREADY, MAKING IT VERY SUITABLE FOR LARGE DATA FILES WHICH USERS WISH TO STORE IN AN EASILY RETRIEVABLE TAPE FORM, EG NIMG RAW DATA, AS THIS WILL NOT THEN CLUTTER THE INCREMENTAL DUMP SYSTEM. COMMAND USE ----------- BKP @FILE or BKP BKP> MMn: FILE> requests a file to be dumped. FILE> or a file containing a list of such files. FILE> ^Z causes the program to terminate the tape file This program is a near equivalent of the DEC utility RMSBACKUP which can be asked to dump in a similar format all files in a directory or group of such.
