LBR LIBRARIAN UTILITY PROGRAM Command Line: outfile [,listfile]=infile1[,infile2,...] where either outfile, infile, or listfile is a standard RSX11M file specifier and must have one of several switches. Additional HELP may be obtained with keywords SWITCH A listing of LBR switches or /SW where SW is an LBR switch 2 SWITCH Possible LBR switches are, /CO Compress a library file. /CR Create a library file. /DE Delete a library module and its entry points. /DF Specify the default library file type. /DG Delete a library module entry point. /EP Control the entry point elements (include, exclude). /EX Extract (read) one or more modules from a library file. /IN Insert a module. /LI List module names. /LE List module names and module entry points. /FU List module names and full module descriptions. /RP [/-RP] Replace a module [Do not replace a module]. /SP [/-SP] Spool the listing for printing. [Do not spool the listing]. /SS Set selective search attribute in module header /SZ Reduce the size of a macro source. Information about any of these can be displayed by typing: HELP LBR /sw where SW is one of the above switches 2 CO /CO COMPRESS SWITCH Reduces the size of a library file which has become too large due to many module replacements. Places all free space at the end of the file, making the free space availabe for new library module inserts. The old library file is not deleted after the new file is created. outfile/CO:size:ept:mpt = infile where: outfile and infile are standard filespecs with extensions .OLB or MLB depending on whether it is an object module library or macro library. size = the size of the library in disk blocks (default is origional size). ept = number of entry points to allocate (the next highest multiple of 64 to ept is used). Defaults to origional value. mnt = number of module name entries(the next highest multiple of 64 to mpt is used). Defaults to origional value. 2 CR /CR CREATE SWITCH Creates a new contiguous library file on a direct access device. outfile/CR:size:ept:mpt:type where: size = size of new library file in disk blocks(default=100.). ept = number of entry points to allocate.(default=512.) mnt = number of module name entry points to allocate(default=256.) type = OBJ for object file, MLB for macro file 2 DE /DE DELETE SWITCH Deletes library modules and their associated entry points from a library file. Up to 15 library modules can be deleted with one delete command. outfile/DE:module1[:module2,....moduleN] where: module = name of module to be deleted. outfile = LBR file. 2 DF $ DEFAULT /DF DEFAULT SWITCH Sets the default filetype argument for the Create switch. Provides a filetype default value of .MLB for macro libraries and .OLB for object libraries. outfile/DF:filetype where: filetype = OBJ for object library, MLB for macro library. 2 DG $ DELETE-GLOBAL /DG DELETE GLOBAL SWITCH To delete a specified entry point from the EPT. Up to 15 entry points may be deleted with one command. This command does not affect the object module which contains the actual symbol definition. outfile/DG:global1[:global2....:globalN] where: outfile = library file globalN = name of entry point to be deleted. 2 EP $ ENTRY-POINT /EP ENTRY POINT SWITCH Controls (include or exclude) the entry of entry point elements in a library entry point table. Can be specified in either a positive or negative form. outfile /EP =infile1,....infileN Include all entry points in a module and insert in library file. outfile /-EP=infile1,....infileN Do not include entry points in entry point table, but insert module into library. 2 EX /EX EXTRACT SWITCH Used to extract (read) one or more modules from a library file and write them into a specified output file. If more than module is extracted, the modules are concatenated in the output file. Up to eight modules may be specified in one extract operation. outfile = infile/EX[:modulename.....modulenameN] where: outfile = name of module when extracted(FOO.OBJ). infile = name of library file (FOOBAR.OLB). modulename = name of module to be extracted.($FOO). 2 IN /IN INSERT SWITCH Insert library modules into a library file. Any number of input files can be specified, and each file can contain any number of concatenated input modules. The /IN switch is the default library file option, and can be appended only to the library file specifier. outfile [/IN] = infile1,infile2,.....infileN where: outfile = file specifier for the library file into which the input modules are to be inserted. The default filetype depends on the current default (.MLB, .OLB) infile = file specifier for the input file. Default filetype is .OBJ if outfile is an object library and .MAC if outfile is a macro library. 2 LI /LI LIST SWITCH Produce a short listing of module names. Three switches allow you to select the type of listing desired. The /LI switch is the default value. outfile [,listfile]/LI where: outfile = library file whose contents is to be listed. listfile = optional listing file specifier. If not specfied, the listing is directed to the initiating terminal. SEE ALSO /LE, /FU 2 LE #LIST-ENTRYS 2 LIST-ENTRYS /LE LIST ENTRYS Similar to /LI. Lists names of all modules in the library file and their corresponding entry points. 2 FU #LIST-FULL 2 LIST-FULL /FU FULL LIST Similar to /LI. Lists names of all modules in the library file and gives a full module description for each: size, date of insertion, and module-dependent information. 2 RP #REPLACE 2 REPLACE /RP REPLACE SWITCH outfile /RP = infile1 [,infile2....infileN] Replaces modules in a library file with input modules of the same name. Any number of input files are allowed, and each file can contain any number of concatenated input modules. When a match occurs on a module name, the existing module is logically deleted, and all of its entries are removed from the EPT. As each module in the library file is replaced, a message is printed MODULE "name" REPLACED outfile/RP=infile1[,infile2,...infilen] where: infile is the file specifier for the file containing the modules to be replaced. If /-RP is attached to an infile , that module is not replaced but rather inserted. 2 SP /SP SPOOL SWITCH Send a listfile for spooling to the line printer. outfile,listfile[/SP] or [/-SP] 2 SS #SELECTIVE-SEARCH 2 SELECTIVE-SEARCH /SS SELECTIVE SEARCH SWITCH Object modules with the selective search attribute are given special treatment by the Task Builder. Only referenced symbols will be listed with the module in the Task Builder memory allocation files, thereby reducing task build time. outfile=infile/SS[,infile2[/SS],...infilen[/SS]] outfile = file specifier for the library file infile = is the file specifier for the input file that contains modules to be selectively searched. 2 SZ #SQUEEZE 2 SQUEEZE /SZ SQUEEZE SWITCH Reduces the size of macro definitions by eliminating all trailing blanks and tabs, blank lines, and comments from macro text. Used to conserve memory in the MACRO-11 Assembler and to reduce the size of macro library files. The Squeeze switch has no effect on object libraries. outfile /SZ=infile1 [,infile2....infileN] or outfile = infile1/SZ [infile2[/SZ],....infileN[/SZ] ] # UNKNOWN QUALIFIER Valid HELP qualifiers are SWITCHES and /sw where sw is any of the following: /CO COMPRESS /CR CREATE /DE DELETE /DF DEFAULT /DG DELETE-GLOBAL /EP ENTRY-POINT /FU FULL, LIST-FULL /IN INSERT /LE LIST-ENTRY /LI LIST /RP REPLACE /SP SPOOL /SS SELECTIVE-SEARCH /SZ SQUEZE # UNKNOWN QUALIFIER KEYWORDS @LBR.HLP
