If it exists, MAIL will activate it with a @MAIL.INI. Your INI file can set $TERM to be your terminal type, $NODE is the local node. Example: .ENABLE GLOBAL .SETS $TERM "VT100" 1 LAST Displays your last message. 1 LISTS There are two types of distribution lists: Immediate Lists: You may enter more than one name when SEND prompts "To: ". Separate the names with a comma. System names DO NOT default through the list. Example: To: REMOTE::SMITH,DOE sends to SMITH on REMOTE and DOE on your own system. Files: You may use a text file containing one address per line. Comments are allowed; begin a comment line with a semi-colon or exclamation mark. Respond @filespec when SEND prompts "To: ". Example: To: @mailing.lst sends to each address in the file. When you use a mailing list, you will be notified if errors occur for some of the addresses. If it is still possible for SEND to send to some of the users, it will ask you whether you want to send anyway. If you answer no, the SEND program will exit without sending at all. 1 NEXT Skips to the next mail message and displays it. 1 NODES Displays the currently defined node paths from the file LB:[1,2]MAILNODE.DAT 1 NTD Runs NTD on local system. Local system is set in symbol $NODE. 1 OPEN Changes the current active file folder. A file folder is an topic that MAIL uses to store related mail. The default folder when you start is MAIL. These contain previously deleted messages. See DELETE and UNDELETE. 1 PRINT Queues the current (last read) message for printing. 1 READ Displays your mail messages.
