COBOL[/qualifier[s]] filespec[,s] Command Qualifiers /[NO]ANSI_FORMAT /[NO]CHECK /[NO]CM6 /[NO]CROSS_REFERENCE /LARGE_SYMBOL_TABLE:n /[NO]LIST[:filespec] /NAMES:xx /NEST:n /[NO]OBJECT[:filespec] /[NO]OVERLAY /[NO]POOL_LITERALS /[NO]READONLY /[NO]SHOW:arg /USING::usercompiler COPY_LIST /WARNINGS MAP /NOWARNINGS VERB_LOCATION The COBOL command invokes the PDP-11 COBOL compiler. Your system may not have a COBOL compiler. 2 LIST COBOL/LIST[:filespec] filespec[,s] COBOL filespec[,s]/LIST COBOL/NOLIST filespec[,s] The /LIST qualifier specifies that a listing file of the compilation be generated. If a filespec is not specified, the listing file will have the same name as the last source file, with a type of .LST. /NOLIST is the default and inhibits creation of a listing file. If you do not supply a file specification for this qualifier, the listing has a file name derived from the name of the first source file in the COBOL command with the file type .LST. If you wish the listing to have a different name, supply the name here. If you do supply a name, the listing file appears in your directory, but is not printed on the line printer. The /LIST qualifier behaves in a different manner depending on whether it is given as a command qualifier or a filespec qualifier. If /LIST is used as a command qualifer, the listing file is placed in your directory and printed on the line printer. If /LIST is used as a filespec qualifier, the listing file appears in your directory, but is not printed on the line printer. All the listing-related qualifiers behave in the same way. See also HELP COBOL SHOW and HELP COBOL CROSS_REFERENCE. 2 OBJECT COBOL/OBJECT[:filespec] filespec[,s] COBOL/NOOBJECT filespec[,s] The /OBJECT qualifer specifies that an object file be generated. If a filespec is not specified, the object file will have the same name as the first source file in your command, with a type of .OBJ. This is the default. The /NOOBJECT qualifier inhibits generation of an object file. 2 ~PIC~ COBOL/WARNINGS filespec[,s] COBOL/NOWARNINGS filespecs The /ACC switch specifies that an object program be produced only if the source program contains diagnostics with severities equal to or less than n. The range of n must be 0
