PRINT/commandqualifier[s] file[s]/filequalifier[s] The PRINT command submits one or more files for printing. The files are grouped together into a single QMG print job and will all be printed together. Abbreviation: P The following command qualifiers are available: /AFTER:(dd-mmm-yy hh:mm) /[NO]HOLD /PAGE_COUNT:n /JOB_COUNT:n /[NO]JOB_PAGE /PRIORITY:n /[NO]FLAG_PAGE /LENGTH:n /[NO]RESTART /FORMS:n /LOWERCASE /UPPERCASE /NAME:jobname /QUEUE:queuename /DEVICE:ddnn: /[NO]TRANSFER The following file qualifiers are available: /COPIES:n /[NO]DELETE /[NO]TRANSFER 2 NOTRANSFER #TRANSFER 2 TRANSFER PRINT/[NO]TRANSFER files The /NOTRANSFER qualifier inhibits the copying of the file to LB: for spooling. The default is /TRANSFER. This can be a command qualifier or a file qualifier. 2 DEVICE PRINT/DEVICE:ddnn: files The /DEVICE qualifier specifies the device on which you want your output to appear. The default is the device or devices served by the PRINT queue. 2 QUEUE PRINT/QUEUE:queuename files The /QUEUE qualifier specifies the name of the print queue in which the job is to be placed. The default queue is PRINT. 2 NAME PRINT/NAME:jobname files The /NAME qualifier permits you to give a name of from 1 through 9 Radix-50 characters to your QMG print job. The default is to name the job after the first file name in the job. 2 AFTER PRINT/AFTER:(dd-mmm-yy hh:mm) files The /AFTER qualifier allows you to specify that your job should be delayed until after a specified date and time. The job will not print immediately at that time, but will become eligible to be printed, and will compete with other jobs at that time. You may specify either the date, or the time, or both. If you do not specify a date, the current date is assumed. To specify the date without the time, omit the hh and mm values, but still include the colons. Examples: PRINT/AFTER:(18:00) LONGFILE.TXT ! print the file after 6 pm PRINT/AFTER:(1-APR-82) JOKE.TXT ! print the file on April 1, 1982 2 JOBCOUNT PRINT/JOB_COUNT:n files The command qualifier /JOB_COUNT specifies how many copies of the complete job are to be printed. In the example below, two copies of the job are printed. Each one consists of one copy of FILE1.TXT followed by one copy of FILE2.TXT. Example: PRINT/JOB_COUNT:2 FILE1.TXT, FILE2.TXT 2 COPIES The file qualifier /COPIES specifies how many copies of the file are to be printed. Only one copy of the job is printed, but it contains two copies of FILE1.TXT followed by two copies of FILE2.TXT. Example: PRINT FILE1.TXT, FILE2.TXT/COPIES:2 2 DELETE PRINT files/[NO]DELETE PRINT/[NO]DELETE files The /DELETE qualifier specifies that one or more files are to be deleted after printing. The default is /NODELETE. As a filespec qualifier, /DELETE indicates that that file is to be deleted. As a command qualifier, /DELETE indicates that all files named in the command are to be deleted. Use the filespec qualifier to override the command qualifier. Examples: PRINT FILE1.TXT,FILE2.TXT/DE,FILE3.TXT !Delete FILE2.TXT only PRINT/DELETE FILE1.TXT,FILE2.TXT,FILE3.TXT !Delete all files PRINT/DELE FILE1.TXT,FILE2.TXT/NODEL,FILE3.TXT !Delete all but FILE2.TXT 2 FLAG_PAGE PRINT/[NO]FLAG_PAGE files The /FLAG_PAGE qualifier specifies whether or not files in a job should be preceeded by file flag pages. The file flag pages separate files and show the file. The default is /NOFLAG_PAGE. 2 FORMS PRINT /FORMS:n files The /FORMS qualifier specifies that your job is to be printed on a special form. Your installation may have different forms for different tasks, such as normal computer paper, narrow white paper for letters, check forms, etc. The default form number is /FORMS:0. See your system manager to find out what other forms are available at your installation 2 HOLD PRINT/[NO]HOLD files The /HOLD qualifier specifies that your job is to be held (made ineligible for printing). You must then release the job to allow it to be printed. See HELP RELEASE/JOB 2 JOBPAGES PRINT/[NO]JOB_PAGE files The /JOB_PAGE qualifier specifies whether or not your job should be preceded by job flag pages. The default is /JOB_PAGE. If you specify /NOJOB_PAGE, your job will still start on a new page, but job flag pages will not be printed. You might do this if you were printing on a special form, particularly a short one. 2 LENGTH PRINT/LENGTH:n files The /LENGTH qualifier specifies how many lines should be printed on a physical printer page. If, within 'n' lines, a formfeed has not been printed, the despooler will insert one. In this way, you can limit the amount of text on a page. This is particularly useful if you are going to place the output in a listing binder. By using the /LENGTH qualifier you can prevent the despooler from printing over a perforation, which will be difficult to read when bound. For instance, /LENGTH:60 works on 66-line line printers. The default, /LENGTH:0, specifies that no implied form feeds should be inserted. 2 LOWERCASE PRINT/LOWERCASE files The /LOWERCASE qualifier specifies that your job must be printed on a printer that has been initialized with lowercase characters. Notice that /LOWERCASE does not effect a lower to upper translation. It is just a selection criteria used to select a printer. 2 PAGECOUNT PRINT/PAGE_COUNT:n files /PAGE_COUNT allows you to specify a limit on the number of pages of output your job will produce. If the specified number of pages is exceeded, an error message is output and the the job is deleted. The default is /PAGE_COUNT:0, which specifies no page limit. 2 PRIORITY PRINT/PRIORITY:n files /PRIORITY allows you to specify a priority for your print job. This priority has no effect on how quickly the job is printed once it is started, but is simply used to determine position in the queue. Privileged users may specify any priority between 1 and 250. Non-privileged users may only specify priorities between 1 and 150. The default is /PRIORITY:50. /PRIORITY:0 is the same as /PRIORITY:50. 2 RESTART PRINT/[NO]RESTART files /RESTART specifies whether or not your job is to be restarted from the beginning if it is interrupted. If you specify /RESTART, if your job is stopped for some reason, and then started, it will start over again from the beginning. If you specify /NORESTART, the default, if your job is stopped for some reason, and then started, it will continue from where it left off. 2 UPPERCASE PRINT/UPPERCASE files /UPPERCASE specifies that the print job can be sent to a line printer that need not have been initialized lowercase. This is the default.
