The HOME command allows you to modify certain fields in the home block of a Files-11 disk volume. The command line format is as follows: HOM[E] ddnn:volume-label/keyword(s) ddnn: The volume whose home block you want to modify. volume-label The current label for the volume. /keyword(s) The specifications for the fields you want to modify in the home block. See HELP HOME OPTIONS for more information about the keywords. 2 OPTIONS Legal keywords for the HOME command are: /DENS=density (specify HIGH or LOW to check density) /EXT=block-count (value range: 1 <= 255(10)) /FPRO=[file protection] /LRU=directory-count (value range: 1 <= 127(10)) /MXF=file-count (maximum number of files on volume) /NAME=volume-label ('volume-label' specifies the new label) /OVR (override volume label processing) /OWNER=[group,member] /PRO=[volume protection] /UIC=[group,member] /VI (display current values of all keywords) /WIN=retrieval-pointer-count (value range: 1 <= 127(10)) For more information on an individual HOME keyword, type HELP HOME OPTIONS keyword 3 DENS The format for the /DENS keyword is: /DENS=density /DENS checks the density of a floppy disk. If specified, the drive density is compared against the keyword value for consistency. Acceptable values are: HIGH and LOW. 3 EXT The format for the /EXT keyword is: /EXT=block-count /EXT specifies the default file-extend size. A file must be extended when it has used all of its allocated space. Legal values for block-count range from 1 through 255(10). 3 FPRO The format for the /FPRO keyword is: /FPRO=[system,owner,group,world] /FPRO specifies the default protection for the files on the volume. Access codes consist of four 4-code groups in the access rights word as follows: R - Read W - Write E - Edit D - Delete In each instance, the absence of the code means that the user class is denied the access right. 3 LRU The format for the /LRU keyword is: /LRU=directory-count /LRU specifies the approximate number of directories that will be accessed simultaneously. Legal values for directory-count range from 1 through 127(10). 3 MXF The format for the /MXF keyword is: /MXF=file-count /MXF specifies the maximum number of files allowed on the volume. This number corresponds to the number of file headers in the volume's index file. Use the following algorithm to determine the maximum number of files allowed on your volume: maximum = (4096.)*(current-number-of-index-file-bitmap-blocks) The maximum number of index file bitmap blocks depends on the maximum number of files currently allowed on the volume. Note that you cannot reduce the maximum number of files already specified for the volume. 3 NAME The format for the /NAME keyword is: /NAME=new-volume-label /NAME specifies a new label for the volume. 3 OVR The format for the /OVR keyword is: /OVR /OVR instructs the HOME command to override label processing so that a volume can be modify without specifying a volume label. /OVR is a privileged keyword. 3 OWNER The format for the /OWNER keyword is: /OWNER=[group,member] /OWNER specifies the owner of the volume. Legal group and member numbers range from 1 through 377(8). 3 PRO The format for the /PRO keyword is: /PRO=[system,owner,group,world] /PRO specifies the default protection for a volume. Access codes consist of four 4-code groups in the access rights word as follows: R - Read W - Write C - Create D - Delete In each instance, the absence of the code means that the user class is denied the access right. 3 UIC The format of the /UIC keyword is: /UIC=[group,member] /UIC specifies the owner of the volume. Legal group and member numbers range from 1 through 377(8). This keyword is identical to the /OWNER keyword. 3 WIN The format for the /WIN keyword is: /WIN=retrieval-pointer-count /WIN specifies the number of mapping pointers to be allocated for file windows. The retrieval-pointer-count must be 1 and 127(10). 3 VI The format for the /VI keyword is: /VI /VI lists the HOME keywords and their current values for the specified volume. You must use at least one other keyword with /VI.
