Hints for CP/M-80 KERMIT on the Kaypro II: Kaypro Kermit simulates the VT52 terminal, but the Kaypro defines tabs to be every 10 character positions, rather than every 8. Therefore, software that sends tabs to the Kaypro during terminal emulation will produce odd looking results on the screen. Many host systems have an option to translate outgoing tabs into the appropriate number of spaces, and this option should be used when available. At speeds above 1200 baud, characters are lost during scrolling. If you host is capable of supplying padding after outgoing carriage returns, you should instruct it to do so under these conditions. If scrolling is not being done, the terminal emulation appears to work properly -- for instance when using screen editors like EMACS, even at higher speeds like 4800 baud. None of these problems effects file transfer, which works correctly at speeds up to 4800 baud (it hasn't been tested at higher speeds).
