FLD: Fixed Length Record Dump Utility FLD is a futility to dump files - it shows file contents in ASCII, RAD50, floating, octal, decimal and octal-byte formats. It inputs a fixed-length record file (F.FIX attribute) and outputs a text file (or to TI:). Starting at the specified byte, each displayed value represents the NEXT ONE OR TWO WORDS commencing from that byte. Each part of each record is displayed as ASCII, RAD50 etc. One line corresponds to one word of a record. Sorry, the whole file is dumped. To use FLD you must know the input record length: use DMP/HD to find this out if you don't know it! FLD command line: MCR>FLD outspec=infile/reclen See also: HELP FLD COMMANDS HELP FLD EXAMPLE 1 COMMANDS FLD obeys RSX command file conventions so you can say: MCR>FLD outputfile=inputfile/recordlength or MCR>FLD @commandfile or MCR>FLD FLD>outpufile=inputfile/recordlength FLD>^Z The recordlength is a decimal number (no '.' allowed). /recordlength is compulsory. 1 EXAMPLE A typical FLD output of a 20 - byte record: rec# 1. 0.: * ô C 17396 #041764 J46 244:67 122.3 2.: *^Y *^Y -26215 #114631 XWA 153:153 -.397047E-23 4.: *^Y *^Y -26215 #114631 XWA 153:153 -.397047E-23 6.: *^Z *^Y -26214 #114632 XWB 154:153 -.398774E-23 8.: * ¬ D 17580 #042254 J9T 172:68 345.6 10.: * Ì * Ì -13108 #146314 20. 204:204 -.268435E 08 12.: * Ì * Ì -13108 #146314 20. 204:204 -.268435E 08 14.: * Í * Ì -13107 #146315 20? 205:204 -.268698E 08 16.: ^A ^@ 1 #000001 A 1:0 .148085E-38 18.: ^D ^@ 4 #000004 D 4:0 .151529E-38 | \ \ \ \ \ | \ | | \ \ \ octal word R50 | high | starting \ \ \ | byte | byte | \ integer | | / \ low byte | low byte high byt real or double (ASCII) (ASCII)
