DEFAULT - Change directories and UICs The DEFAULT command simplifies the format for moving to a new default directory, UIC, and/or device. The general format is: > DEF ! Displays current default. > DEF ! Change device and/or UIC. > DEF ! Change device and/or ! directory. > DEF nnn, ! Changes group number only. > DEF ,nnn ! Changes user number only. > DEF * ! Prompts for each directory. > DEF nnn,* ! Prompt to change user only. > DEF {dev}*,nnn ! Prompt to change group only. > DEF . ! Go to last directory. > DEF LAST ! Ditto. > DEF $ ! Go to SYS$LOGIN. > DEF HOME ! Ditto. where can be a logical name or device specification. If you are a privileged user, you will mount unmounted volumes.
