TIZ is a task to simplify the modification of task image files. It offers TKB-like keyword modification of those task attributes that are represented as values in label blocks 0-2. TIZ can be invoked as an MCR command, by >TIZ [Dumpfile=]Taskfile[Keywords] or interactively by >RUN TIZ The keywords implimented at the moment are: /ASG=dev:lun - LUN assignmnt /[NO]PM - Dump on abort /[NO]CP - Checkpointing /PAR=name - Partition name /[NO]DU - Dump label blks /PRI=n - Priority /EXIT - Update task img /QUIT - Dont update tsk /HE - Help message /[NO]RO - No task img upd /IDENT=idnt - Task ident /[NO]SL - Install slaved /[NO]IP - Map I/O pg OK /TASK=name - Task name /LIBR=nam:ac - Libr access /XHR=opt - Extrnl hdr ctrl For additional help, type HELP TIZ COMMAND or HELP TIZ 2 COMMAND The basic TIZ command line is [Dumpfile=]Taskfile[Keywords] If unspecified, Dumpfile defaults to TI:, and Keywords defaults to /DU/RO. Defaults for Taskfile are: Device SY: UIC Current default Name No default Type .TSK Version Highest-numbered. If you are running interactively, you will be prompted for the task file name, and then for keywords. A null keyword entry closes the current task file as modified (unless /RO is in effect), and prompts for another task name. A null task file entry terminates TIZ. You can override the default dump file in interactive mode by replying Dumpfile=Taskfile in response to the task file prompt. Note that the dump file is opened for append access, with FORTRAN carriage control. This is a feature for those who want to dump a bunch of label blocks, and then edit the output file, searching for tasks with given characteristics. 2 ASG The ASG keyword modifies LUN assignments. The syntax is the same as for the Task Builder: /ASG=dev:lun[:lun ...] If the highest-numbered LUN is assigned to OV0:, it is assumed to be the overlay load LUN, and it cannot be modified. 2 CP The CP switch determines whether the task is to be installed checkpointable or not. The syntax is the same as for the Task Builder: /CP if the task is to be checkpointable, or /-CP or /NOCP if not. 2 DU The DU switch calls for a dump of portions of the task label blocks (it would be a "list", /LI, except that conflicted with the LIBR keyword). Generally, only those items that can be modified by TIZ are dumped; however, the entire Task Flags Word is dumped even though not all bits can be modified. The meanings of the mnemonics are: PIC Task Contains Position-Independent code (built with /PI); -HDR Task has no header (built with /-HD); ACP Task is an ACP (built with /AC); PMD Produce a postmortem dump on abort (built with /PM); SLV Install task with slave attribute (built with /SL); -SND Task may not recieve messages (built with /-SE); PRV Task is privileged (built with /PR); CMP Task is built in compatibility mode (/CM); -CHK Task is not checkpointable (built with /-CP); RES Task has memory-resident overlays (built with /RO); -IOP Priv. task purposely overmaps I/O page (built with /IP); SUP Task is supervisor mode library (built with CMPRT option); XHR Task requests external header (built with /XH); -XHR Task requires pool-resident header (built with /-XH). 2 EXIT The EXIT keyword causes the current task image to be updated and closed. TIZ will then prompt you for another task image. You can abbreviate EXIT to two characters. Control/Z is equivalent to the EXIT keyword. 2 HE The HE switch causes help text to be printed. If TIZ is invoked as an MCR command, it may be specified on a line by itself: >TIZ /HE If you are using TIZ interactively, you can get help in response to the task file prompt by entering /HE You can also get help in response to a keyword prompt. The help message is the same in all cases. 2 IDENT The IDENT keyword specifies the task's identification string. The syntax is similar to the task builder: /IDENT=ident The ident is an arbitrary RAD-50 string of 6 characters or less, used to identify revision level or whatever. It is displayed for installed tasks by the TAS command. 2 IP The IP switch causes the INStall error message INS -- Warning -- Privileged task overmaps the I/O page to be supressed. This is useful only on a /PR task that is over 8KW. The syntax is the same as for the task builder: /IP To allow the message, /-IP or /NOIP to supress the message. 2 LIBR The LIBR keyword changes the access rights of a task to a resident library or resident common. The syntax is the same as for the task builder: /LIBR=name:RW[:new] for read/write access, or /LIBR=name:RO[:new] for readonly access. The "name" parameter must be the name of a library the task was built against, or an asterisk to change access for all user mode libraries. The optional "new" parameter (square brackets are not part of the syntax) changes the name of the library or common the task is mapped to. NOTE THAT THE ENTRY POINTS TO THE NEW LIBRARY MUST BE THE SAME AS TO THE OLD LIBRARY OR YOUR TASK WILL NOT WORK. You cannot modify the access to a supervisor mode library with this keyword. 2 PM The PM switch causes the task to generate a postmortem dump if aborted (and if PMD... is installed). The syntax is the same as for the task builder: /PM to generate a post mortem dump, or /-PM or /NOPM to supress the postmortem dump. 2 PAR The PAR keyword specifies the name of the default partition for the task. The syntax is similar to the task builder: /PAR=name Note that you cannot specify partition base address or partition length on this keyword. If the task is to be run on an unmapped system, the new partition should have the same base address as the old partition. 2 PRI The PRI keyword specifies the priority at which the task is to run. The syntax is the same as for the task builder: /PRI=n where "n" is a decimal number in the range 0 to 250. 2 QUIT The quit keyword causes TIZ to close the current task image without modification. TIZ will then prompt you for another task image. You can abbreviate QUIT to two characters. 2 RO The RO switch governs whether the modifications made by TIZ should be written back into the task image. It has no relation to the "/RO" taskbuilder switch. The syntax is: /RO Don't update task image /-RO or /NORO update task image. Note that the task image file is not updated "on the fly". The three label blocks are read into an internal buffer and modified there. When in interactive mode, the task image is only updated at a null response to the keyword prompt. Asserting the RO switch at any time prior to this point prevents the update. You must specify this switch for each task image you don't want updated; the setting is not "latched". 2 SL The SL switch requests that thte task be installed with the slave attribute. The syntax is the same as for the task builder: /SL to install slaved, or /-SL or /NOSL to install without the slave attribute. Note that a task whose name is of the form "...xxx" cannot be installed slaved. TIZ will issue a warning message when the task file is updated if you create such a task. 2 TASK The TASK keyword specifies a task name. The syntax is the same as for the task builder: /TASK=name. You can give a null name. Note that a task whose name is of the form "...xxx" cannot be installed slaved. TIZ will issue a warning message when the task file is updated if you create such a task. 2 XHR The XHR keyword determines whether a task is to be installed with external headers (RSX-11M+ V2.0) or alternate headers (RSX-11M V4.0). The syntax is different from the syntax for the task builder /XH switch: /XHR=NO Task can't be installed with external header /XHR=MAYBE Take default built into INStall /XHR=YES Install with external header unless overridden by INStall.
