SPACE INVADERS Warning to all high scoring players! There appears to be a bug in the DEC Fortran System V 2.5-2 (either compiler or library) which can sometimes cause the data file to be corrupted at the end of game. The bug appears to involve the dreaded Fortran Carraige Control and causes the first two numbers in the data file to increase in value, from the correct values of (format?) 8 5 0.00200000 0.06000000 to something like 800 500 0.00200000 0.06000000 If the game starts to slow down, check your data file!!!!! Unbelievably high scores can otherwise result! Note that the bug shouldn't appear with a properly patched Fortran System (it shouldn't appear at all, but that's another story!). If you run into extreme problems, take heart: you can get DEC to patch your compiler (for a fee), you can try to modify the source, or you can wait for V2.0 which is written in Macro. R N Caffin
