File: README.2ND ============================================================================== Never give a tinkerer a new toy...IND has now been patched (previously patched version is IND.JMC) to accept a default extension of .CMD ala RSX-11M (instead of the RT-style .COM), which should help all of us command freaks keep the two flavors on the right shelves. Also, in the spirit of egoless code, the logo has been changed to "IND/RT v01.8", sorry John! Errata: The variable is undefined upon entry to IND, and will not be fully qualified (as in RSX-11M) if the user-specified filespec does not include an extension [e.g. .OPEN NEW ==> = "DK:NEW."]. Albeit, the IND processor does open xxxxxx.DAT (in the case of .OPENx) or xxxxxx.CMD (in the case of @ or .CHAIN) as required. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ For the curious, here are the SIPP commands: R SIPP IND.SAV/A/C 0 14460 12314 12314 12314 12314 ^Z 14512 27504 52122 ^M [ this is for the uninitiated ] ^M 34056 ^Y 027671 ^C ============================================================================== VFY is a random-access (disk) verification utility. It allows a user (.COM or .CMD) file to verify that a certain disk is loaded in a specified drive. It, optionally, may be used to simply view the current VOLUME_ID and OWNER of a volume. Its primary utility is in "automatic" back-up procedures. See the file VFY.DOC for complete details. ============================================================================== Gladly shared, Larry Owens OWENS COMPUTER SERVICES 2813 Indianola Avenue Columbus, OH 43202 (614)262-4805 [ Herb's phallacy: RT, the spice of life ... real Thyme processing ?!?! ]
