There must be millions of materials! How do I get aquainted with all
these materials? Even with all these materials I can't hope to find
exact matches for my specifications. I need to know a lot of them in
order to pick something close.

The other problem is that there are tons of characteristics. If I
select a material I have to say "yes", "no", or "I don't care" to each
of these characteristics. Even though I can right away narrow myself
to a few materials provided the chart is available, the materials that
bear the greatest hope must take a great amount of time to check over.
There must or should be some kind of computer database. Info
appreciated.
