Sorry that I chose the English language for this message although I normally try to write in Cymraeg even if I am not a native speaker. There has been a recent discussion about the use of Cymraeg on this list. I have to say that I enjoy reading both English and Welsh postings so I wouldn't ban any discussion in English, e. g. about historical novels from this list, be it Americans or not who participate in it. On the other hand I have been learning a lot by reading mails written in Cymraeg and therefore I would like to encourage everybody able to write in this wonderful language to do so. Now I'd like to join a humble but nevertheless very important request: Could everybody writing in Cymraeg on this list at the beginning or end of a posting quote whether he/she is a native speaker of the language or not. For me as a learner it's not always easy to decide whether certain strange formulations are ungrammatical or just interesting - it would help a bit, if one would know whether the author is a native speaker or not. At least I would ask everybody to do so in connection with the next posting on its sending! And equally if not even more important: Could some native speaker (and there seem to be lots of them around on this list!) correct Welsh postings if there are any mistakes! At least I would ask you not to hesitate doing so with my postings in Cymraeg - and please do so on the list, not via private email. Because we all could learn a lot and improve our command of the language - and that is, I understand, the main point of this list. Maybe doing this some interesting discussions could arise! And furthermore I'm convinced that nobody would mind if this would be done with the postings one tried but maybe failed to put together in correct Cymraeg. Thank you very much - diolch yn fawr iawn! Sincerely, Konstantin Woebking (Austria) not a native speaker of either Welsh nor English! PS.: Feel free to correct my English as well, but maybe privately on email, as it wouldn't be interesting for the others!
