I have studied German, French,Spanish and Welsh. I think the Welsh/English dictionaries are TERRIBLE. My favorite in the other languages is Cassell's for a big hardback dictionary. They have a section where the IRREGULARS reside. These pages of irregulars are noted by number or other easy method when one looks up an irregular word (usually verb). For a paperback I like the Bantam. These have basic grammar rules as well as info about irregular forms. Also if I were to look up "sommes" in the French/English I would be referred to "etre." The Welsh/English dictionaries need lots of work. The publishers should look at some good dictionaries to get some decent ideas on what needs to be done to improve the W/E dictionaries. It would be nice to look up "es" and be told to go to "mynd" instead of finding nothing. Perhaps a publisher that makes good foreign language dictionaries would be interested in producing a w/e one. diana
