Sean- Thank you for your commentary. I understand your point about the various celtic BB's, but it doesn't seem to me that the volume on Welsh-L is high enough to warrant such division. Perhaps your experience differs from mine. I agree that you do not have to speak Welsh to be Welsh, but I disagree strongly about language & politics not being intertwined. If language isn't important to politics, why was CyI started in the first place? If language isn't important to politics, why are so many English monoglots choosing to send their children to Welsh-medium schools? Or to go farther back, if language isn't important to politics, why was Welsh prohibited in the Acts of Union? I've been mightily enjoying the variety of discussion on this bb, in whatever language. And I'll restate my original point- learners who wish to post here should make a sincere effort to compose their thoughts in Welsh, however imperfectly, and the fluent speakers should be willing to serve as mentors and teachers, instead of telling us to go away unless we're fluent.
