----------------------------------------------------- The Puget Sound Welsh Association (PSWA) wsa formed to coordinate several existing local Welsh groups. The Seattle Welsh Women's Club joined in 1984 with Dosbarth Cymraeg and Cor Cymraeg Seattle under a new flag, which bears a Red Dragon rampant within the outline of the State of Washington. Later, two more groups, the folk band Band y Ddraig Goch and Dawnswyr Dewi Sant were sponsored by PSWA. PSWA successfuly promotes and sponsors Welsh cultural and educational activities for the Puget Sound area. The society and its clubs participate in many ethnic fairs and Celtic festivals. Each year, the local music scene is enriched by Welsh music at the traditional St. David's Day celebration in March, the annual Gymanfa Ganu in October, the Christmas concert, and public performances by Cor Cymraeg and Band y Ddraig Goch. PSWA sponsors informational exhibits at several ethnic festivals in the Puget Sound area and deposits information at public libraries. PSWA also provides liaison with the Welsh Tourist Authority and the British Consultate in order to encourage tourism and host visiting dignitaries. The best way to stay up to date with PSWA activities at this time is to subscribe to Y Ddolen. It comes out nine months per year.
