I am a freshman at Syracuse University. My hobby since I was 12 years old has been genealogy. I have become fairly knowledgable on the topic. I have done my own family tree including my Welsh sides in Wales (recently, however, I have had little time to continue). I offer you a bit of advice, if I may. The most fabulous resource available to genealogists is the Mormon Church. I am fairly sure that you've heard this over and over as I did. I never really gave it too much of a chance until 2 years ago. There I found just an amazing place and people to help you in your quest to find yourself. Not only do they have extravagent resources and technological capabilities, they are very supportive. I would take advantage of your local Family History Centre of the Church of Latter Day Saints. It is by no means necessary to be a member of that church or any church. You will find many of your more general questions answered there. I really can't stress this enough. Just a note. Ynys Mon (Anglesey) is one of the most "Welshest" centres of Wales today. It is the island where my family originates as well. It is a language and cultural stronghold on the northwest shore of Wales, constituting a fair size considering the overall size of tiny Wales. Brought along with the Brits was their Anglican Church which many converts from various Catholic and semi-Celtic religious thoughts. Whether this was by coercion, or more by voluntary conversion is debated. However, after several generations, the "Church of Wales" has become prominent as with non-denominationals. For maps, both historic and present day that can get very specific, I'd recommend checking into David Morgan Co. near Seattle Washington. They provide several Celtic goods. Just don't underestimate the Mormon Library through a first glance. Hope I have helped a bit. Any questions, feel free to ask. I'll do my best to answer.
