Welsh learners in North America might find some profit in Ninnau, the monthly paper for Welsh Americans. Most of it is social-local, but every month there is a good page which has (a) a short lesson on a grammatical point, with a set of sentences to illustrate (up to number 39 now): (b) "Ways of Welsh" (Teithi'r Iaith) -- on some linguistic or historical point, very ably done by an expert, Robert A. Fowkes: (c) a Welsh-English crossword. Ninnau address is 11 Post Terrace, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920, and it costs fifteen dollars a year. But even if you don't subscribe, get your library to do so. The paper also has advertisements for tapes. When I read the occasional queries about pronunciation on this screen, it strikes me that only an expert phonetician can learn sounds from letters, and most people would find a tape a more profitable investment.
