What does it mean for the Welsh Language? It means basically that we are dependent upon Labour's good will in co-operating with Plaid and putting aside party differences for the benefit of the nation, I suppose. Unfortunately, if Labour's MEPs are anything like the Labour MP for Carmarthen, this will not happen. In her election manifesto the Labour candidate in the South & Mid Wales constituency - or whatever they call it now (it includes Carmarthen, Ceredig- ion, (Cardiganshire) and I'm not sure where else) - made much of the fact that she was Welsh born and bred & would do her best to see that Wales was fairly represented in Europe. This may be the reason she won the seat. (she also appeared to advertise more than anyone else) Pob Hwyl Huw Huw Garan (NJ152@uk.ac.lamp.vms)
