Hi. I've recently discovered this list. My name is Bob Bottomley and I live in southern California. My grandmother was born in Wales and I have been looking for Welsh language materials on and off for years now (never with any sucess). This list has given me the information I need. I have ordered several catalogues. As soon as they arrive, I will order some learning materials. I look forward to being able to read the Welsh postings here. On 4 Nov 93, Michael Everson writes: > Three fonts come together in a package called "CeltScript 1" which > fully support the Celtic standard: Ceanannas (based on the Book of > Kells), Doire (based on the monospace typewriter font), and Duibhlinn > (based on the usual book face). Postscript and TrueType formats for > the Mac, and TrueType format for Windows 3.1. IRL100.00 plus 21.00 VAT > for the set. "CeltScript 2" is in preparation. Where do I get these fonts? I tried TUAMACH from the archives, but I find it unreadable (spacing problems: "in" is indistinguisable from "m", uppercase is indistinguishable from lowercase, etc.). I read Welsh Lesson #1 by Roger Vanderveen. In it he says: > Internet Orthography: ... > / accent grave (instead of apostrophe) > \ acute accent (backwards accent grave) Aren't these backwards? Isn't "/" the acute accent and "\" the grave? Diolch yn fawr. (Someday I will know what this means.) Bob Bottomley Internet: rbottomley@aol.com
