>Has anyone seen or used McKenna's, Handbook of Modern Spoken Breton? >If so can you explain the huge asking price of $119.95 ? What does it consist >of that would merit such a sum ? I've read the book. I think its price is too high although it was not published by Mouton but by Niemeyer/T"ubingen, Germany. It mainly constist of two long articles which had been previously published in the Zeitschrift f"ur Celtische Philologie as "The Breton of Guemene-sur-Scorff" (ZCP 37(1979) 249-277 and ZCP 38(1981)29-112). As far as I remember, the emphasis lies on phonology. In all chapters a phonologic writing is used instead of a more or less "standard orthographie" used in other grammars. So have a look in ZCP 37 and 38 before you decide to spend your money Johannes Heinecke
