Literacy in Medieval Celtic Societies University of Wales, bangor 12-15 September 1994 "This conference will explore the uses of literacy in the Celtic countries from c. 400 to c. 1500AD. A great deal of work has been done on medieval uses of literacy in recent years, but relatively little of this has focused on Celtic societies. The conference will provide a platform for new research together with an opportunity to compare and contrast the uses of the written word in the various parts of the Celtic world."
