FRIEDRICH Dr. Friedrich Klaren was presented to Ron Furey and Richard Eaton by Wolfgang Juchem (see separate entry) as an example of his support among average German citizens. Klaren tells an eye- opening story about his wartime past. He says he was assigned by his company to spend two days at the Mauthausen concentration camp (near Linz, Austria) where he was involved in supervising inmates who worked in the camp's quarries. He claims that camp officials took extra measures to safeguard the health of quarry workers by outfitting them with devices to filter out mining dust as they breathed. After the war, Dr. Klaren (doctorate is in business administration) continued his career in quarry operations. Klaren has high regard for Juchem and is especially impressed with his abilities as an orator. He says he has attended meetings where groups of one hundred or more turned out to hear Juchem. Furthermore, Klaren feels that Juchem is precisely the kind of candidate who will find support in veterans' organizations. (Source: fascism SWC.oprep)
